Oily Skin
Are you sick of that oily shine on your face? Do you have to wipe your face, every time your friends ask you to pose for a groupie? This is because oily skin produces the most amount of sebum. Here’s how you can nurture it.
Yes, your skin is high on sebum but that doesn’t mean that it won’t need its share of hydration. Don’t make the mistake of skipping the moisturiser or it will accelerate the sebum production and cause acne. Gel based products are the best bet for you. Look for ingredients such as AHA, salicylic acid and glycolic acid in the product you pick for your face.
Use one product for both sunscreen and moisturiser. This way you can avoid any greasy patches to be formed on the skin. Always use Non-comedogemic products to keep the pores clean and healthy.
Wash your face two to three times a day and exfoliate thrice a week.

It keeps the skin hydrated and protects it from bacteria.[/blockquote][/pullquote]

Dry Skin
Does it seem that your skin needs dapping up a layer of moisturiser every couple of hours? This is because dry skin secretes the least amount of sebum and may feel parched if not taken care of.
Pick products labelled as “for dry skin.” Look for Ingredients like shea butter, jojoba oil and glycerine. If you have dry skin make sure your skin care products don’t have AHA, alcohol, retinoid and fragrance. Go for cream based or ointment based moisturisers.
Any kind of face mist is a big no, no for you. If you have very dry skin, you may have to skip using the deodorant as well. As many deodorants have high ratio of alcohol and even if not applied directly on the face, may cause irritation.
Wash your face twice a day and exfoliate once a week.
Combination Skin
So you think your skin is both dry and oily. Some areas of your face seem to be oily while the others seem dry or normal. Mostly it’s the T zone that is oily and the C zone which feels normal but it can be the other way round too. So how to take care of it? Read on to know.
The important thing here is to create a balance in the skin’s sebum secretion. Rather than gel or oil based products you need to choose water based products for yourself. While it’s not possible to treat your face with two different products daily, make it a point to use 2 face masks, when masking the face. Pick products labelled as “for combination skin.” At times you may have to treat your face as two different skin types.

Sensitive Skin
Are you often worried about breakouts? Your skin gets red just by a brief exposure to sunlight? You are unable to use new products as you are too worried about their reaction? Ouch! It sounds like you have sensitive skin.
Remember, for you less is more. Your skin needs a lot of nourishing but only with the products that suit you. If possible use sunscreen and moisturiser, both in one product. And go for products with minimal ingredients.
For you products packed in a tube are better than the one’s packed in a container. As products that come from a container tend to develop bacteria due to repetitive contact with the fingers. And if your skin is really sensitive it won’t be happy with even a slightest of bacteria.
Always do a patch test before trying new cosmetics. If you think your toner is irritating the skin, skip it altogether. Choose products that soothe your skin.
Wash your face once a day and exfoliate twice a week.
Normal Skin
If you belong to this spectrum of skin type, you are lucky and you know it (clap your hands). It must be a blessing if your skin doesn’t ask for wiping off the excess oil or dapping in of moisturiser every 2 hours. Yes, your skin secretes optimum amount of sebum but don’t you dare take it for granted.
Yes, you too need a skin care routine. And as it’s a balanced skin type it requires balanced nourishing. Go for water based products. Don’t use product that make it very dry or very oily.
Adding a good quality serum to your regime help the skin feel rich with vitamins and help it glow.
